Casio Tryx – a small flexible camera
A few weeks ago David Pogue wrote about a cool new camera, the Casio Tryx. In a New York Times column Pogue compared the Tryz to the Flip camcorder for its simplicity and flexibility. And I mean physical flexibility – you can twist the camera’s frame in just about any direction. There are basically no knobs – everything runs from a touch screen. Because of its small size there was no way to incorporate an optical zoom, but at 12 megapixels that won’t normally be a huge problem. The camera, which costs $208 at Amazon, has already won design awards from Popular Mechanics and CES 2011, where it was rolled out in January. There’s a good video demo at CNET website, as well as the YouTube below. I would LOVE to get my hands on one of these babies!
