YouTube to school copyright offenders
Starting two weeks ago, if YouTube discovers that you have posted content illegally, you will be required to view a video and take a short quiz. After receiving three copyright “strikes” YouTube will suspend your account. A strike can be removed if, instead of repeating, you demonstrate prolonged good behavior.
The “Copyright School” video features the Happy Tree Friends, a group of animated animals whose videos are wildly popular. The video is cute, compact, and accurate – although some segments go by too quickly for the content to sink in. I doubt it will have a major impact on the behavior which it aims to change, but copyright holders will appreciate the effort.
