What does your email signature say?

In the latest installment of “PHD Comics,” Jorge Cham offers a humorous infographic that analyzes The Semiotics of Professor E-mail Signatures. I usually put two dashes before my first name, so I guess I am informal but cold. Cham’s analysis doesn’t get past the sender’s name, but usually the phrase “e-mail signature” encompasses more than that. In Six ways to make a good e-mail signature, Tris Hussey suggests to keep it short and simple, spell out website addresses, and “forget the little quotes.” I came close until that last bit.
