IU and Missouri require smartphones

Large universities are beginning to jump on the mobile device bandwagon, as evidenced by this item in The Chronicle’s “Wired News” blog.

The budding scribes get iPhones. The future CEO’s get Blackberrys.

    Mobile Devices can be construed as a fad, but when you think of information you could access, stuff you can do, on a mobile device, you realize how incredibly useful it would be as a freshman to find the bookstore, or to locate that first class with a mobile campus map; or to check the pending status of that class drop/add you just did…
