Playing History
June 3, 2010
Millions of dollars have been invested in developing educational games, and a growing body of research supports their use. Nevertheless, after pilot testing many of these games are forgotten by all but a few users. The Playing History website presents a searchable database covering 126 historical games and simulations available on the web.
The site was developed at George Mason University’s Center for History and New Media using Omeka, their open source platform for displaying of scholarly content.
